From Saskatchewan Homemakers' Kitchens

In 1955 the women of Saskatchewan Homemakers' Clubs compiled a cookbook in honour of Saskatchewan's Golden Jubilee. They dedicated it to the women of yesterday.

In 2005 the Western Development Museum,
with support from the Saskatchewan Women's Institute, reprints the cookbook in honour of the province's centennial.

We dedicate the reprint to the women and men, girls and boys, of tomorrow.

Pictured here is an original copy of the cookbook from 1955, worn from many years of use. The WDM has reprinted the cookbook exactly, without alteration (minus the cooking stains, creases and tears). The recipes and sketches provide a glimpse of another Saskatchewan, familiar but different from the province we know today.

Copies of the cookbook retail for $9.95 + GST. The books are available at all four WDM gift shops, on the WDM's Online Store, and Tourism Saskatchewan.
