The Saskatchewan Story - 1905-2005: Winning the Prairie Gamble

Introduction scene from Winning the Prairie Gamble Moose Jaw

 Winning the Prairie Gamble:
The Saskatchewan Story!

Scan the northern forests and the minerals underground in a display of Saskatchewan natural resources. Rich in forests and minerals, the land is a generous provider. Next, explore the innovative and adaptive strategies that farmers and scientists have applied to farming. The inventive farmer in the farm shop, the inquisitive scientist in the greenhouse, the enterprising engineer in the laboratory - all brought innovative thinking to the soils and crops, to the machinery and methods, of farming in Saskatchewan. Then, enter a tipi structure to explore traditional and contemporary First Nations teaching and learning. See how Elders relied on stories, gentle guidance and respectful modelling to raise youngsters in the ways of the people.

See Winning the Prairie Gamble exhibits in other WDM locations.
